A farm visit is a good opportunity for children to see some farm animals and learn about how food is grown. Plenty of farms have arrangements where you can take a school group on a farm visit. You can often visit a farm as a family, too. It makes a great day out for a weekend or during the holidays. It also teach children to appreciate food and reduce waste.
There are farms all over the Malaysia, but you might be surprised to know that there are also city farms for you to visit. These are places in Klang Valley and Selangor where animals are raised and also vegetables and fruits are produced. Some of them also are organic farm that sells organic produced directly for consumption.
1. Farm In The City, Seri Kembangan




Farm in the City (FITC) is an unique concept that combines the elements of wildlife and nature set in a designed environment of a conservation park. resembling a typical Malaysian Village setting, it houses more than 100 species of Farm and Exotic animals and plants in specially built enclosures. One can get close, touch or feed the animals with almost Zero distance.
The operating hours are like below:
- Weekdays: 10.00 am – 6:00 pm
- Weekends: 9.30 am – 6.00 pm
- Closed on Tuesday, excluding public & school holiday

2. Bug’s Paradise Farm, Puchong





Bug’s Paradise Farm a good place for sightseeing and if you came different period you can have different scenery. Guided organic farm tour will walk you along the farm and teach you about organic farming. There are also farm-to-table experience here which you can enjoy the plant based food that made from fresh and local ingredients in the farm.
The farm shop operating hours are like below:
- Wednesday to Friday: 12.00 am – 10:00 pm
- Weekends: 10.00 am – 10.00 pm
- Closed on Monday and Tuesday

3. Selangor Fruits Valley, Rawang





Selangor Fruits Valley (SFV) is developed by Perbadanan Kemajuan Pertanian Selangor (PKPS), a subsidiary of Selangor State Government. The purpose of SFV is to have visitors experience an educational agricultural life at first hand taste fresh produce sold by local farmers. Various attraction awaits at SFV such as Tropical Fruits Farm, Herbs & Spices Garden, Deer Farm and Mini Petting Zoo. You can also enjoy tram ride around the park.
The park operating hours are like below:
- Saturday to Wednesday: 9.00 am – 4.00 pm
- Friday: Closed

4. Farm Fresh @ UPM, Serdang







Farm Fresh @ UPM or also known as The Acre By Farm Fresh and Ladang Farm Fresh is an educational farm visit attraction located in the UPM campus area. It is operated by Malaysia’s largest milk producer Fam Fresh. Here you can discover how they produce dairy using sustainable farming practices while enjoying flora, fauna, and the outdoors. Besides that, there are also petting zoo, tractor ride, Farm-To-Table restaurant and their original ice cream.
The park operating hours are like below:
- Tuesday to Friday: 10.00 am – 7.00 pm (Last entrance: 5.00 pm)
- Monday: Closed

5. Laman Agro MAEPS








Located at the grounds of MAEPS, Serdang at the Malaysia’s largest and most comprehensive agrotourism park, Laman Agro MAEPS is only 30-minutes drive from both KL City Centre and KLIA. It consists of 8 agriculture showgrounds to showcase Malaysia agriculture industry which includes herbs, vegetables, flowers and livestock. It is open for public and suitable for both adults and children to experience various interactive activities such as honey harvesting, seasonal paddy planting and milling, horse riding, playing with various exotic pets (reptiles, birds & cats), relaxing at spa@maeps or enjoying food.
The park operating hours are like below:
- Tuesday to Friday: 9.00 am – 6.00 pm
- Monday: Closed
Pre-booked guided tour package rates are:

- Non MyKad: RM65
