Selangor-Japan Friendship Garden (Taman Persahabatan Selangor-Jepun) opened on 12th March 2021 by Mayor of Shah Alam City Council (MBSA), Datuk Haris Kasim together with Japan Information Service 3rd secretary from the Japan Embassy, Iwai Imari.
Selangor Japan Friendship Garden located at the East Lake of Shah Alam Lake Gardens had been designed with cultural elements to signify the mutual friendship and strong cooperation between Selangor and Japan. It is also meant to symbolise the trade and investment ties between Selangor and Japan, and add an attraction to the already-bustling state.
Japanese landscape theme along with bridges and bonsai trees boasted features that were ideal for wedding photo shoots. This new garden of Selangor Japan Friendship Garden cost over RM3.8 million to build.

Attractions

Zen Garden
This Japanese-inspired landscape rock garden feature is made up of rocks, gravel, and a tree, akin to an overgrown bonsai, that’s its centerpiece.






Torii Gateways
Torii gateway is a feature that commonly seen at Japanese shrines and gardens.

Maze Pond
This pond is shaped like a maze and it features bridges and small canal that offers awesome photoshoot background.


Tsukubai
Tsukubai is a traditional washbasin that is commonly used in the temples of Japan.

Koi Pond
Koi pond maybe the most featured in any Japanese garden, here visitors can feed the fish.


Rumah Selangor
Inside Rumah Selangor (Selangor House) there is a Japanese yukata rental shop and a small museum showcasing Japanese culture such as clothing and traditional dolls.


Terrace Garden
Terrace garden feature some of Japanese architecture hint and provide visitors ample space to enjoy the nature.


Reflexology Garden
There are also Japanese-inspired reflexology garden where you can take off your shoes and give your feet a massage to help with your blood circulation.

Take KTM Komuter to Shah Alam KTM station, then exit the station towards Hentian Seksyen 19 bus hub. Take Smart Selangor [SA01] bus to Dataran MBSA for a 8 minutes journey. Then walk for about 1 km through Shah Alam Lake Garden.
