Getting there 🛣

If you’re going by public transport, from Kuala Lumpur and southern area you can use express bus to Cameron Highlands directly from TBS-Bandar Tasik Selatan and Titiwangsa Bus Terminal. There are also express bus service from Ipoh Amanjaya Bus Terminal.

Using car is the most recommended since in Cameron Highland there are no public transport like bus or Grab service. The only way to get around is either by taxi, rental car or by foot. From Kuala Lumpur, use the route from Tapah; from Penang use Simpang Pulai; from Terengganu use Kuala Berang-Felda Aring-Gua Musang route; or use Raub-Sungai Koyan route if you’re from Pahang.

Start your journey as early as possible because the road will be jammed especially around the noon.

Avoid public holiday and school holiday season

If you can, please avoid going there on public and school holiday season. There are a lot of reason why to avoid the holiday season such:

Price increase on products due to high demand
Very bad traffic and difficulty to find parking spot
Hotel is full and price increased
Less privacy especially at photo shoot spot

There are shop area near S Corner market when you’re going uphill from Brinchang that has several stalls and small shops that are famous for being cheapest price in Cameron Highlands.

Strawberries here are fresh, big and sweet but you can get it cheaper if compare to other place. You can also get Cameron Highland made tea bags here with discounted price depend on your negotiation skills.

Lunch

The most recommended place to get your lunch in Tanah Rata is a restaurant called Kedai Kak Yam, near Cameron Highlands Bus Terminal. You can find it by the banner in front of the restaurant.

Place to stay

There a lot of hotel and resort to choose in Cameron Highlands. The most recommended area is Tanah Rata as it is the busiest town in Cameron Highland. So it is easier to access banks, shops, restaurant nearby in this area. This area also hotspot for backpackers.
